Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat issues within the knee joint. During this surgery, a small camera, called an arthroscope, is inserted through a small incision, typically less than a quarter-inch in diameter. This camera is connected to a monitor, allowing the surgeon to view the internal structures of the knee, such as the tibial insert surface. Saline solution is pumped into the joint under pressure to expand it and improve visibility while controlling bleeding.
The surgeon examines the entire knee joint for any problems, using one to four additional incisions as needed to insert specialized instruments. These instruments may include a blunt hook for manipulating tissues, a shaver to remove damaged or unwanted soft tissues, and a burr for smoothing or removing bone.
Arthroscopic knee surgery offers several advantages, including smaller incisions, which generally lead to faster healing, quicker recovery times, and minimal scarring. It allows for precise diagnosis and treatment of various knee conditions, from evaluating joint damage to performing reconstructive procedures if necessary.

It is better the open surgery as it results in less pain, minimum complications, quicker recovery and short stay in hospitals.
